  • Born in Yakima, WA 1976
  • State Soccer Champions 1993; 2nd, 1994
  • Graduated West Valley High School 1994
  • Attended Yakima Valley Community College, Evergreen State College, Western Washington University, The University of Montana, and Heritage University. I really liked college!
  • Hitchhiked to Mexico from Bellingham, Washington
  • Graduated with my undergraduate degree in Forestry and Recreation from the University of Montana in 1999
  • Worked with juvenile delinquents in a wilderness setting for a couple of years (Alternative Youth Adventures)
  • In 2001, began working for Austin-Lehman Adventures and Mar Y Aventuras guiding adventure trips in Montana,Wyoming, and Mexico. I continue to work for Austin-Lehman Adventures (www.austinlehmanadventures.com).
  • Bicycled from Washington state to Mexico with good friend and college roomate, Lincoln Baker
  • Lived in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico for 4 years and picked up some Spanish
  • Worked as an ESL instructor at Yakima Community College
  • Received my Masters in Teaching 2006
  • Lived in Floripa and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for 5 months with my little brother Jacob. Picked up some Portuguese.
  • Taught as a bilingual instructor, English teacher, and history instructor at Chute Middle School, in Chicago (http://chute.district65.net)
  • Moved to Cartagena, Colombia and taught English at Colegio Jorge Washington (www.cojowa.edu.co)
